The question

Every group chat asks
the same question.

Saan tayo kakain? Where do we eat? The honest answer is usually kahit saan, anywhere, because the useful answer is buried. A fifty percent dinner is on one bank’s promo page, a buy-one-take-one is on another’s, each with its own days, cards and fine print, and nobody reads eight bank websites before dinner.

So the group settles for the nearest place, pays full price, and the deal they could have used expires quietly at the end of the month. Meanwhile the real answer was in a wallet at the table: a card someone already owns, with a dining deal a few streets away.

tara is a map. Every dining promo from nine banks is read every night and pinned to the places where it actually works, together with chain promos checked against the brands’ own official posts. Open it near you, tap a pin, and you see the discount, the card it needs and the days it runs. No tabs, no fine-print marathon.

  • From tara’s own data on 3 October 2026: 326 live deals (290 card deals from eight banks and 36 chain promos), 2,983 places with a deal and 20,029 mapped venues. These counts include 7 chain promos that start later in the month and 6 BPI promos paid through the BPI app or VYBE, which the monthly dining promo guide leaves out, so its counts are lower. tara reads nine banks; Maybank has no current dining promo. The numbers change every night.

What tara is, and is not

tara is a free web app by Jetzets that maps credit-card and chain dining promos in Metro Manila and Metro Cebu.

tara is a map, not just a list. You open it where you are, and the deals are already pinned to the restaurants they work at, so the first thing you see is what is close to you. You can filter by your cards or by day, tap a pin, and go eat.

tara is not a bank and not a restaurant—their names appear only so you can tell whose offer is whose, and every deal links to its public source: the bank’s or the brand’s own page.

Nine banks, every dining promo

  • BDO
  • BPI
  • Chinabank
  • EastWest
  • Maybank
  • Metrobank
  • RCBC
  • Security Bank
  • UnionBank

“Every dining promo” means the dining and restaurant offers on each of these nine banks’ own promo pages, as the banks publish them. tara does not rank the banks or pick favourites. It reads what each bank has published, keeps the link to the bank’s page, and pins each offer to the places where the bank says it is valid.

What a pin shows

Tap a pin and one card opens. It carries the same handful of facts every time, in the same order, so two deals from two different banks can be compared at a glance.

The discount
A percentage, a fixed amount off or a buy-one-take-one, as the bank states it.
The card it needs
The bank, and the card networks it lists, such as Visa, Mastercard or JCB.
The days it runs
Weekdays only, particular days, or every day.
Where it is valid
The branches or the city the offer names.
The end date
The last day the bank says the offer runs.
The source
A link to the bank’s own page, so you can read the full terms yourself.

Promos belong to the banks and the restaurants, and they can change or end without notice. Always confirm with the bank or the restaurant before you pay.

The good stuff is already here.

Street food at ten at night. A rooftop with a view. A toast that goes on too long. The Philippines does evenings better than almost anywhere, and a lot of it costs less than you think if you know which deal is running this week. Knowing is the hard part. That part is our job.

While the city sleeps,
tara reads every bank.

Every night, tara visits the dining promo pages of nine banks and reads every deal again: the discount, the cards it works with, the days, the branches, the fine print. Deals that ended come off the map. New ones get pinned. Chain promos are checked against the brands’ own posts before they go anywhere near a pin, and a promo announced for later shows its start date instead of pretending it is good tonight. By the time you wake up, the map is already today’s.

Chain promos, and how they are checked

Alongside the card deals, tara pins promos from restaurant chains. We research these by hand, and a chain promo goes on the map only if it passes four rules:

  1. Official source only. It comes from the brand’s own website, app, official social account or press release. A screenshot going around, or a listing on someone else’s site, is not enough.
  2. A limited-time promo. Not a standing menu price, and not a loyalty perk.
  3. Redeemable at the branch. Dine-in, take-out or pick-up. An offer that only works through delivery does not count.
  4. Current. It is running now, or it has been announced with a start date, in which case the card says when it starts.

A card deal pin and a chain promo pin are different things. A card deal is the bank’s offer, needs that bank’s card and is read from the bank’s page every night; a chain promo is the brand’s own offer, checked against the brand’s own post before it goes up.

On 3 October 2026, tara carried promos from these 26 chains. Chain promos come and go, so the list changes, and we are adding more chains as we go.

Two metros

tara covers Metro Manila and Metro Cebu. As of 1 October 2026 it maps 18,164 venues in Metro Manila, of which 1,755 have a card deal and 712 have a chain promo only. In Metro Cebu it maps 1,858 venues, with 152 carrying a card deal and 24 a chain promo only. tara is built metro by metro.

Put another way, 13.6 percent of the mapped venues in Metro Manila carry a deal of some kind, and 9.5 percent of those in Metro Cebu. The film opens on a group chat where everyone answers kahit saan. It cuts to a pile of bank promo pages and their fine print, then to the tara wordmark. A map of Metro Manila fills up with every card deal, each one pinned. A phone shows a single deal: the discount, the card, the days. At 03:35 in the morning, tara re-reads every bank; expired deals fall off the map and new ones light up. And the next time the chat asks, someone just answers: tara.

The counts in the film, including the number of banks, are from the night it was rendered, and they have changed since. The numbers on this page are the dated ones.

Questions people ask

Is it free?

Yes. tara is free, and everyone who signs in with Google sees every area of the map and every deal.

Which banks?

tara reads nine: BDO, BPI, Chinabank, EastWest, Maybank, Metrobank, RCBC, Security Bank and UnionBank. On 15 October 2026, eight of them had dining promos on the map; Maybank had none. tara reads the dining and restaurant offers on each bank’s own promo pages. The Journal lists the biggest of every bank’s current dining deals, with their end dates, in this month’s guide.

Which cities?

Metro Manila and Metro Cebu, with 20,022 venues mapped between them as of 1 October 2026.

How often does it update?

Every night. The banks’ pages are read again, deals that ended leave the map by morning and new ones are pinned. Chain promos are researched by hand from the brands’ official pages and refreshed regularly. The whole process, and where it can still go wrong, is in How tara finds and checks deals.

Do I need a card from every bank?

No. A deal needs only the card it names, and every pin says which bank and which card networks that is. Filter the map by the cards you already have, and the rest stay out of your way.

Do I need an invite?

No. Anyone with a Google account can sign in and get in straight away, and without signing in you can still look around a small preview of the map. Once you are in, you can share tara with friends. Everyone who uses it helps keep the map right: when someone catches a stale or wrong deal and tells us, the fix is there for everyone.

Does tara sell my data or show ads?

No. tara never sells your personal data, and it currently shows no ads. It keeps the minimum it needs: your email and name, your preferences and the deals you save. Its own privacy policy is at tara.jetzetsph.com/privacy.

Who makes it?

Jetzets, a company based in the Philippines that builds small, sharp tools for everyday life. tara is our first product. There is more about us on the About page, and you can write to us at hello@jetzetsph.com.
