tara reads the dining promos of nine banks every night and pins each one to the places where it works. A machine reading web pages gets most of that right. It does not get all of it right, and the people who notice first are the ones standing at the counter. This is how to tell us, and why it matters more than it sounds.
Every report is read by a person. A good one fixes more than one deal: it usually points at the reason the map went wrong, and fixing the reason fixes every other deal that went wrong the same way. Here is what that looked like this week.
What one report can fix
This week, four reports about four restaurants came from inside the tara team. None of them said anything about code: each one was simply “this is not right” from someone who knew the place.
- A seafood restaurant’s promo for its Greenhills branch was pinned to a branch near Roxas Boulevard that, the report said, has closed. The promo now sits in Greenhills, and tara now keeps any promo that names a district in that district: Greenhills, BGC, Eastwood and twelve others.
- A bank’s half-off promo was listed under a restaurant group’s name, and its steakhouses were named only in the fine print. It matched nothing, so it never reached the map. It now shows at all four of their Metro Manila branches.
- A comfort-food chain showed up as two separate rows in the list, and a bank’s buy-one-take-one on its pizza was on only 6 branches, one of them a branch the bank never listed. The list now shows one row per chain, and the promo is on 17 of the 20 branches the bank lists. The other three are outside the map, or the promo does not say which mall.
- A restaurant with two branches showed only one. The second, in BGC, was not on our map at all, so we added it.
Behind those four were patterns: a chain’s name spelled two ways, branch lists matched too loosely, real restaurants hiding in the fine print. We went looking for every deal those patterns, and a few like them, had broken. Fixing them put 26 promos that had been missing onto the map, 12 of them in Metro Cebu, and 11 more now reach branches they used to miss. A separate fix that same day let 18 bank promos reach 129 more branches, almost all in towns at the edge of the map such as Imus, Bacoor and Taytay; 58 of those places had no deal on tara before. That is what a few “this is not right” notes can do.
How to spot a missed deal
A missed deal is a promo that is real and current but is not on tara, or is not at your branch. There are four places to look.
- Your bank’s own promo page or app. Every card deal on tara links to the page it came from. If your bank lists a dining promo near you and tara does not show it, that is a missed deal.
- The branch list. Many promos name the branches where they work. If your branch is on the list and tara does not pin the promo there, tell us which branch.
- The fine print. Some promos are listed under a restaurant group or a hotel, and the restaurants appear only in the terms. Those are the easiest for a machine to miss.
- The restaurant itself. tara’s places come from OpenStreetMap, a map that anyone can edit, plus the big malls’ own directories and places we add by hand. A new restaurant, or a new branch of an old one, may simply not be on the map yet.
For a chain promo, the bar is the one in How we check a chain promo: it has to come from the brand’s own page or post, be a limited-time offer, work at the branch, and be running now or have a start date. A delivery-only code or a regular menu price will not get a pin, however good it is.
How to flag a wrong deal
Open the place, find the deal and tap Report under it. You get a short list of what can be wrong:
- Not honoured at this branch
- Wrong days
- Expired or not started yet
- Pin is in the wrong place
- Wrong discount, price or minimum spend
- Wrong bank or card
- Deal does not exist here
- Venue has closed or moved
- Missing a deal this place has
- Something else
Pick the one that fits, and add a line if you can. The box asks “What did the staff say? Which branch were you at?”, and those two answers are usually what lets us fix it.
If the problem is the place and not a deal, such as a pin on the wrong street or a restaurant that has closed, open the place and tap Something wrong here? Report it. It works even on places with no deals, because “this place should have a deal” is worth hearing too.
What makes a report easy to act on
- Which bank and card, or which chain.
- Which branch, and the day you went.
- A link to the promo page, if you have one.
- What the staff told you, in their words.
Please never send a card number, a photo of your card or a receipt that shows card details. We never need them, and a message is the wrong place for them.
How to help shape tara
At the bottom of the map, once you are signed in, there is a strip that changes every few seconds: Help shape tara, Spotted a wrong deal?, Got an idea?, Know a promo we missed? Tap it to send us a note. Choose Report a bug, Missing or wrong deal or Suggestion, and write as much or as little as you like.
Suggestions decide what we build next. The way tara’s list now folds a chain’s branches into one row, instead of filling the screen with the same chain, came from a partner telling us the list was crowded. If something annoys you, or something you need is missing, say so.

Reports and notes go through your tara account. Open tara and sign in with any Google account to get in straight away, or write to us at hello@jetzetsph.com. Email works for anything: a missed promo, a wrong pin or an idea.
What happens next
A person reads it. We check the bank’s or the brand’s own page, because that is where the last word lives, and then we fix the deal, the pin or the place. Card deals are read again from the banks every night, starting at 03:23 Manila time, and a fix we make by hand reaches everyone who opens tara after it goes out.
Some reports cannot be fixed on our side. If a branch does not honour a promo that its bank still lists, the bank and the restaurant have the last word, and the most tara can do is show you the source so you can ask. Either way, confirm the details with the bank or the restaurant before you pay.
Numbers in this article
From tara’s changes on 3 October 2026: the four reports above, and the audit they started. 26 promos that had been missing went onto the map (12 of them in Metro Cebu) and 11 reached more branches; a separate fix let 18 bank promos reach 129 more branches at the edge of the map, 58 of them places with no deal before. The comfort-food chain’s pizza promo: 6 branches before, 17 of the 20 its bank lists after. The numbers change every night.
