Which credit card is best for dining in Metro Manila?

There is no single best card for eating out. There is a best card for the way you eat out: on weekends or on weekdays, at a hotel buffet or at the chain down the street, in Makati or in Cebu.

This comparison is built from the dining promos that were running on 26 October 2026, as we read them in tara from the banks’ own promo pages that day: 300 card dining promos from eight banks (how we find and check them). We track nine banks; Maybank had no dining promos that day. Promos change every month, so we rebuild this page from fresh data every month and the date above says which day it shows.

This is not financial advice, and it is not advice on which card to apply for. It compares one thing, the dining promos each bank was running on 26 October 2026. It says nothing about annual fees, interest, rewards points or anything else a card costs or earns, and a few promos are a small part of what a card is worth. The banks set the terms: check them on the bank’s page before you pay.

The eight banks side by side

One row per bank with card dining promos that day, the bank with the most promos first. “Places” counts every branch and restaurant the promos are pinned to on our map, which is why a bank with a few chain promos can reach more places than a bank with many single restaurants. “Weekend” counts, among the promos whose days we could read, the ones you can use on a Saturday or a Sunday. The middle minimum is the median of the minimum spends the promos state.

“Weekend”: promos you can use on a Saturday or a Sunday, of those whose days we could read. “Middle minimum”: the median of the minimum spends the promos state. A bank’s places can add up to more than the total, because one place can have promos from several banks, so the Places total is left blank.

Read across a row and each bank has a different shape. Metrobank has by far the most promos, 121, and the most at half off or more, 10, but most of its list is single restaurants at 10 to 20% off. BDO and UnionBank have far fewer promos and reach the most places, 655 and 632, because a handful of their offers cover whole chains. Metrobank also has the most promos in Metro Cebu, 16, and 12 of BPI’s 25 are there. And across all eight, only 43 of the 300 promos take half off or more; the typical offer is a smaller discount with a minimum bill attached.

Two things in the table matter more than the headline counts. The first is the days: of the 156 promos whose days we could read, 100 work on a Saturday or a Sunday, and the share swings widely from bank to bank. The second is the fine print on cards: 11 of the 300 promos are open only to a bank’s premium cards, so the bank’s name on your card is not always enough.

If you mostly eat out on weekends

Start with UnionBank. Of its 22 promos that state their days, 20 work on a Sunday and 19 on a Saturday, the highest weekend share of any bank on 26 October 2026. BPI comes close, with eight of nine, and EastWest has ten of 15.

The bank to be careful with on a weekend is Metrobank: of its 50 promos that state their days, 26 work on a Saturday or a Sunday, the lowest share of any bank on 26 October 2026, although its list is so long that this is still a good number of weekend promos. BDO is close behind, with 20 of 35 on a Saturday and 17 on a Sunday: its offers are good ones, but many are Monday-to-Friday offers. Our weekend list has the biggest deals you can use on a Saturday or a Sunday.

Many promos give no days that we could read with confidence: some are good every day, and others put the days deep in the terms. Before a Saturday dinner, open the promo on the bank’s page and look for “Monday to Friday” or “weekdays only”: it is the condition that most often turns a good offer into a no.

If you love a buffet

18 of the 300 promos name a buffet in the bank’s title, the offer or our note on the terms; more hotel promos include a buffet somewhere in their fine print, so treat these counts as a floor. Metrobank has the most, four, then BPI and EastWest with three each. The bigger story is one buffet: Spectrum, at Fairmont Makati, had buffet offers from seven banks that day (BPI, Chinabank, EastWest, Metrobank, RCBC, Security Bank and UnionBank). If a hotel buffet is your kind of night out, the question is less which bank is best than which of those banks you already hold.

Buffet offers come with their own conditions. Most set a minimum and a maximum number of diners, many need a reservation, and the rate can differ between lunch and dinner or between weekdays and weekends. Our buffet list has every current buffet deal, and the Makati list sets that area’s hotel buffets side by side.

If you eat at chains, or want everyday value

For the places you go without a reservation, look at BDO and UnionBank. BDO has eleven promos that reach ten or more places, more than any other bank, most of them chains: Chowking (207 places), Max’s Restaurant (80 places), Yellow Cab Pizza (71 places), Pancake House (69 places), Krispy Kreme (54 places), Classic Savory (31 places). UnionBank’s reach comes from fewer, bigger chains: Jollibee (478 places), Red Ribbon (115 places), Dakasi (11 places). Several of these are a free item rather than a discount, so check what you get and what you have to buy first.

UnionBank also asks for the smallest bills. Its promos that state a minimum have a middle value of ₱800, the lowest of any bank, against ₱2,000 at Metrobank and ₱2,500 at BDO. A promo at a chain branch is the chain’s deal with that bank, so check that the branch you pick takes part; the bank’s page lists the branches when they are limited.

If you are in Metro Cebu

Only 53 of the 300 promos reach Metro Cebu at all, so the choice there is narrower. Metrobank has the most, 16, 16 of them for Cebu places only, and BPI has 12, 11 of them for Cebu only. UnionBank and BDO reach more Cebu places, 64 and 47, but almost all of that comes through chains and restaurant groups. RCBC has seven Cebu promos and EastWest six; Chinabank had none in Cebu that day.

If you hold a premium card, or do not

Eleven promos on 26 October 2026 were for premium cards only, such as Elite, Platinum, World, Signature or Infinite cards. RCBC had the most, four, then BDO with three and Metrobank with two; BPI, UnionBank and Security Bank had none. Three more give their headline rate to premium cards and a smaller one to the rest. If your card is a classic or a gold, the bank’s page, not the headline, tells you which rate is yours.

The card you already have

For most people the best card for dining is simply the one already in the wallet, used at the right place on the right day. Each bank page below lists the biggest current deals of that bank, its top 10 first, with the end dates:

If you hold cards from more than one bank, compare before you book: the same restaurant often has offers from two or three banks on different days and terms, and the area pages for BGC and Makati put those side by side. How to read a bank dining promo explains the conditions that decide whether an offer applies.

How we know

We are Jetzets, and we built tara, a map of credit card dining deals in Metro Manila and Metro Cebu. Every night it reads the public promo pages of nine banks and matches each promo to the restaurants it covers; this comparison counts that data on 26 October 2026 and is rebuilt every month. In tara you can see the same promos for the banks you hold, with every branch and the days. How we check deals explains each step, and its limits.

Numbers in this article

From our data on 26 October 2026: 300 card dining promos from eight banks that were inside their dates and not marked ended on the bank’s own page. Not counted: 5 BPI promos paid through the BPI app or VYBE. Places are the places the promos are pinned to; a hotel restaurant pinned to both itself and its hotel counts once, and the Metro Cebu counts are places in Metro Cebu. Days and minimum spends are as we read them from the banks’ terms. “Premium cards only” is our own reading of each promo’s eligible cards. A buffet promo names a buffet in the bank’s title, the offer or our note. The numbers change every night; this page is rebuilt every month.
